The Flex Belt A Good Supplement For You Abdominals

While Bodylastics does a great job of strengthening your body one area it isn’t easily able to target is the abdominals. I know there are some crunch exercises you can do with the resistance bands, but to really get in there and firm and tone those abdominals you may need some help.

A device I’ve been using the past few weeks is The Flex Belt. It’s an electronic muscle stimulating device known as an ab belt that firms and tones my abs through daily sessions that last about 30 minutes each.

The Flex Belt uses technology that has been studied and proven effective by physical therapists all over the world to rehabilitate and strengthen weaken muscles after injury or accident in patients.

The premise is simple. The ab belt sends a slight current through the belt and gel pads that are touch your skin. That current travels through the nerves in your skin and muscles causing your abdominals to flex. This flexing mimics the exercise of a sit-up or a crunch but without having to actually do the movement. The result is you can get a half decent workout around the home or office while you’re tending to other things that need to get done.

Now let me start by saying I don’t believe that a device like this is a silver bullet solution. This is meant to supplement the work you are or would be doing using the Bodylastics system. However since you’re already spending 4-5 days a week on a full body workout the Flex Belt could be that extra bit of sculpting to really get your body in the peak shape you desire.

The downsides to using an ab belt are minimal. There’s no real side effects, there’s no risk of shock and there is no pain experienced during each session. It’s more or a pleasant buzzing sensation that happens when you’re wearing the belt.

You do need to be consistent with it’s use and this is where many users fall down. They feel that they can just use the belt a handful of times and see amazing results. Because results are cumulative you must be consistent and it’s still important that you follow a healthy lifestyle plan in all other areas of your life.

Exercise resistance bands are the ultimate portable workout equipment

Finding an in-expensive home gym is tough. Especially one that works well, and provides the work out you’re looking for. Exercise resistance bands are a unique piece of fitness equipment that are in-expensive, portable, and easy to use. With the right accessories your exercise bands can become a full fledged home gym that works just as well as any free weights or machine without taking up the space.

How exercise resistance bands work

Exercise bands use resistance to emulate weights that you would use in a gym. There are varying degrees of resistance, some kits actually label the differences in resistance in pounds relating each band to the eqivalent free weight.

Benefits of Using Exercise Bands rather then Free Weights or Machines

When you use free weights to work out your muscles only receive resistance during one half of the motion. Gravity works against you when trying to push or pull the weights (depending on the exercise). In contrast when you’re using exercise resistance bands your muscle fibers receive resistance during the entire exercise.

This resistance can take some time to get used to but it’s the ultimate in toning, firming and sculpting your muscles.

Resistance Band Exercises you can do

You can do the same routines with exercise resistance bands as you can with other types of gym equipment. There are actually some unique exercises you can only do with a fitness tube set.

You can re-create as many as 140 exercises you’d do in the gym right at home by utilizing a simple add on to your resistance band kit. A door anchor allows you to connect your exercise band to any door in your home this allows you to emulate many of the exercises you would do on expensive equipment at your local health club.

Taking Exercise Resistance Bands on the road

Going on the road for work? Or maybe on vacation, your exercise band home gym fits nicely into your suit case or carry on and can be used any where you are. Indoors or outdoors, at a campground or hotel, exercise resistance bands are the perfect portable piece of exercise equipment.

Where to find Exercise Resistance Bands

Most local fitness stores, and some sports stores should sell individual exercise resistance bands. Also online there are several options from online fitness stores. The exercise resistance bands set I use is BodyLastics, it comes with 4 different resistance bands, ankle straps, and a door anchor. It’s the most complete exercise band set available and it costs about the same as a one month membership to the gym.

Resistance Tubes a Substitute for Free Weights?

When shopping for a home gym it can get quite expensive if you want to use free weights. Not only do you need a variety of weights, but you also need a place to store them. A quality alternative to buying free weights are resistance tubes. Like free weights you get a variety of weights/resistances to use, yet they take up no room in your home, and cost a fraction of the price.

Resistance tubes come in different colors, and each color represents a different amount of resistance or weight that you use during exercise. Each resistance tube exercise is designed to emulate those that you do on machine or with free weights. The unique benefit of a resistance tube exercise is that your muscles receive resistance during all motions of movement, while with a machine or free weights you only receive the resistance when gravity is acting on the weight you’re lifting.

GET RESULTS FAST!! with the #1 Compact Gym System

Why consider resistance tubing for your home gym?

Resistance tubes take up literally no room. You don’t need a special room in your home to use them yet you can get the same results.

The cost of a resistance tube set is $100 or less, let me tell you for one hundred bucks you’ll get quite the resistance training set.

You can do resistance tube exercises any where. Exercise bands are very portable and can be used at the office for a quick work out, in a hotel, or on vacation. That’s one thing you definitely can’t do with other home gym equipment.

A gym body without the gym? Big time! Click Here to see how

How to learn Resistance Band Exercises

Some fitness tube systems come with a dvd. The product I use came with an interval training dvd that I can do to get both a strength and aerobic work out. Also there are several online resources available that provide a detailed overview of the correct technique for each exercise.

If you’ve spent any time in a gym you know that the correct form and technique are essential if you want to get the maximum benefit of the exercise and not injure yourself.

Body Lastics the manufacturer or a popular resistance tube product offers a one year subscription to their online exercise band membership.

Who You should consider buying Resistance Tubes

If you’re shopping for a home gym system such as a bow flex, crossbow, or total trainer give Resistance bands a second look. The price is drastically different, but trust me when I say you can get all the same benefits of a machine like the bowflex from resistance tubes.

If you are trying to lose weight and want to start exercising then resistance tubing is a great alternative. It’s in-expensive, low impact, and you can vary the resistance you want. The right resistance training system will save you a lot of money in comparison to a gym membership.

Most exercise equipment stores will sell some form of resistance tubes. You can also do a quick search online to locate websites that carry them. I use the Body Lastics system and I think it offers the best value for the money. It also comes with some unique accessories like the door anchor and ankle straps that make it the complete replacement for a home gym system. You can visit their website here.

Get Fit With a Fitness Tube Home Gym System

What makes fitness tubes so great? Is it there portability? Cost? Or the quality of the exercises that can be done? It’s a mix of all three reasons, and some are more important to others. That’s why people of all shapes, sizes, and fitness goals are getting on the resistance training band wagon and buying a fitness tube set.

What do you get in a Fitness tube set

A quality set of fitness tubes come with several different colored resistance bands, each color is a different resistance and allows you to progress with the same equipment as you become stronger. Often you will receive accessories that you can use at home to do more exercises by connecting your fitness tubes to a door, or connecting them around your ankle to do leg exercises.

A good example of a kit like this is the Body Lastics Fitness tube set.

Fitness tubes Vs. Home Gym Machines

The latest craze in home fitness equipment has been the home gym machines like the Cross bow and Bowflex. No where better can you see this then in the massive number of commercials a company like Bowflex runs.

The concept behind machines like these is also resistance. You connect a different number of resistance bars to the machine and then do your exercises. As you gain strength you add more bars, sounds pretty similar to how a resistance tube system works doesn’t it?

Fitness tubes use the same concept as a BowFlex to improve your physique. Of course they cost a heck of a lot less, don’t require a separate room in your home to store them, and they’re portable. Doesn’t paint a very nice picture for the home gym machine does it.

Should you buy a Fitness tube set?

Anyone can use a fitness tube, it’s not rocket science. The exercises are easy and emulate just about every exercise you can do with free weights or on a machine. People that should strongly consider purchasing a fitness tube set are those that are:

Considering buying a home gym system

Looking for an option to workout at home and cancel their recurring monthly gym membership fees

People who are looking to lose weight

Resistance training is great for toning and shaping muscle. It’s the ideal home gym product for those that like to look toned but aren’t into building bulk.

Where to buy Fitness tubes?

Most sporting goods stores, and exercise equipment retailers will likely carry fitness tubes. Although they may not carry a fitness tube set with several bands, and accessories. I suggest you check out the Body Lastics system, it starts at $50 or less and includes 4 fitness tubes, the special accessories, and a manual dvd to use in your workouts.

Exercise Tubing Systems – Tone In No Time!

Exercise tubing really is the secret weapon to a toned body. I’ve read it before that you don’t need anything more then a yoga mat, fitness ball, and a set of resistance bands to get and stay in shape. That statement is very true, yet a lot of us still rush out to buy expensive home gym equipment, and spend big bucks on monthly gym memberships. You don’t need an expensive home gym, or a gym membership. This article is going to explain how you can get in shape and stay in shape with exercise tubing, and tell you why you don’t have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to get in shape at home.

GET RESULTS FAST!! with the #1 Compact Gym System

Why you don’t need an expensive Exercise Machine

Home gyms and exercise machines work. I cannot say they don’t, of course they only work if you use them, but they do the job. The down sides? Their physical size, and cost are the biggest issues. You can pay upwards of a $1000.00 for a home gym system, and need a whole room of your home to use it. If you think of systems like the Bow flex, they use resistance to create the weight that you push, pull or lift when working out. It works great, but there is a less expensive option for you, that won’t take up any room at all in your home.

Exercise Tubing The Simple and Small Solution

Exercise tubing sets also use resistance, your body, as well as parts of you home like doors to complete a full body work out. The resistance is similar, if not the same as the big home gyms, but all of the equipment can be packed neatly into a small nylon bag, and can be used in any room of the house.

What about the exercises I can do?

It might not be straight forward at first but the exercises you can do with exercise tubing are more or less the exact same as with a conventional exercise machine. Of course it requires that you use some special equipment along with the workout bands, but if you buy the right set you’ll have everything you need.

The Right Exercise Tubing Set

I’ve seen a lot of different exercise band sets available at sports equipment stores, and general departments stores. While they’d do the job, I had never seen a system that really looked like it could easily replace a home gym. Then I stumbled on the body lastics system. I won’t get into a sales pitch for the product, all I’ll say is that the different resistance bands, and attachments that came with the set allowed me to completely replace my home gym setup, save space, and save money. Check out Body Lastics and see for yourself, how less then $50 bucks can have you in shape in no time.

Replace your home gym with a Fitness Tube system

It’s pretty easy to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on a home gym system. Think of the TV commercials you might have seen for products like the Total Gym, Bow Flex, these systems can cost you upwards of $100 a month for a full year. What if there was a way to get the same work out, but for literally 1/10th the cost? You probably don’t believe me yet, but you can with the right fitness tube set, and resistance training exercises.

GET RESULTS FAST!! with the #1 Compact Gym System

It’s all about Resistance

Big home gym systems like the Bow Flex system use resistance to create the weight you lift when working out. Exercise tubing does the exact same thing, by using different or more tubes when performing an exercise you are effectively lifting more or less weight, plus you’re working your muscle both ways since the resistance is constant not just when you’re lifting or pulling the weight.

Resistance training has long been a fantastic way to shape and tone your body. Professional body builders and athletes will use resistance tube workouts to supplement regular weight lifting to tone and sculpt muscles, because of the unique nature of the workout.

How does a fitness tube set replace a home gym?

The big benefit of a home gym is you don’t require a bunch of dumb bells, bar bells, and benches around the house. You have one machine that you can use for a total body work out. In contrast a fitness tube set (which can fit nicely in a small nylon carry case) can also provide the same type of full body workout.

How can you perform the same full body work out? Let’s just take a look.

Below is a picture of the Body Lastics Fitness tube set. It comes with several bands that vary in resistance, as well as several special attachments that allow you to easily perform the same exercises with the bands as you would on a machine.

For simple back and arm exercises you place the resistance band under one or both of your feet and perform the exercise. Effectively having it under your foot means the fitness tube is fixed. Click here to learn more about workouts with Bodylastics.

Now the nifty additions with this set include the ankle attachment, and the door brace. The ankle attachment allows you to perform a leg and lower body work out similar to that on a home gym machine. The door anchor allows you to fix the tubes to any door in your house, hotel, or anywhere there’s a door really and do back, tricep, and bicep workouts just as if you were using a machine at the gym.

The real surprise!

Ok so you can see how you can perform all the same exercises with a fitness tube set you can do with a home gym system, and the benefit of using resistance training. Now the real suprise, fitness tube sets like this can be bought for under $100 bucks. The body lastics system (which I use at home) comes in a variety of options but the basic fitness tube set is around $50. It’s well worth it, and takes up no space so there is not extra clutter around the house. If you’re looking for a home gym alternative, or were thinking of buying a big and bulky home gym don’t do it without checking out what Bodylastics has to offer.

Anyone who doesn’t think that workout bands can provide a full body workout equivalent to a home gym machine, or free weights obviously hasn’t tried them before. The effectiveness of workout bands is so great that they’re used almost exclusively by the medical community and rehabilitation, seems like a pretty good endorsement to me? Workout band systems similar to Bodylastics are used by physical rehab and medical centers across the country. Why do they depend on resistance bands for this purpose? Simple, they work.

GET RESULTS FAST!! with the #1 Workout bands System

What exactly are Workout bands

Workout bands are a hollow elastic tube/band. As they’re stretched the resistance increases. Because of their small size and portability their popularity is catching on. They’re a fitness product that suits almost anyones lifestyle no matter where they live, or how much they’re on the go. The key is having the right system to work your muscles, and that offers enough growth that you can continue to use it and advance your strength training.

Am I Limited to what exercises I can do?

It’s often thought that you’re limited to the number of exercises you can do with workout bands. This is not true, you can effectively work any muscle group you can work with a home gym system such as a Bow Flex, or Total Trainer. The actions of course might vary, but you’ll be able to do your exercises in just about any room of your home or even out doors. The biggest down fall (besides cost) of bulky home gym machines is that you require such a massive amount of space to use them.

Using exercise bands ensures you’re able to get a full body workout, at varying degrees of resistance and difficulty needing a very minimal amount of space. People will often use time, travel, or space restrictions as an excuse for not being able to exercise, with workout bands none of those excuses cut it anymore. You can workout any where any time, and your complete gym fits nicely into a nylon carry bag.

What Workout bands system should I get?

The #1 selling workout bands set is Bodylastics. They constructed their system to rival some of the biggest home gym manufacturers that also use resistance as their method of building muscle. I suggest it to any of my friends that are looking for a piece of workout gear for home, and I think it was one of the better purchases I’ve made in quite some time. The product is durable, portable, and offers a lot of variation for your workouts. Depending on the set you get there are varying degrees and numbers of resistance bands included, as well as a workout dvd and instruction manual. For a cost effective, and complete workout system for use at home and on the road check out Bodylastics, it’s well worth it.

Bodylastics Review – Should you buy this resistance band home gym?

When I started looking for a piece of home gym equipment I never thought I’d end up with something like the Bodylastics system. I was thinking about a total gym, or some other form of resistance machine. It was by fluke that I stumbled on the Bodylastics website and realized what a unique home workout system this product really was. Unique enough I felt I wanted to share my experience with the it with you in a Bodylastics review.

The Pros of BodyLastics

Portable: Hard to argue that this home gym system isn’t portable. I take mine with me on the road for work all the time. While I haven’t take it on vacation, I know I could, and I use it in just about any room of our home I want.

Cost Effective: Pricing up the Bodylastics system against home gym systems or free weights there’s just no comparison. Even if you’re to purchase the most expensive set (bodylastics max tension set) from their website it’s still right around $100, you just can’t beat the price.

Great Workout: I had never done resistance training before I bought Bodylastics, I knew the concept, but wasn’t sure what to expect. Well let me tell you, it’s a workout like none other. I was humbled pretty quick when I had a tough time completing a few days worth of training using the set workouts that come in the manual.

Product Durability

One of the question I had before purchasing was how durable is Body lastics. I have to say it’s very well built, the exercise bands are strong and thick. The hooks on the end of each one (see image below) are well connected. Their secured using a nylon and ring system (see below) it’s very strong, and doesn’t stretch or pull on the end of each tube.

Bodylastics Hook on tubing

The handles, and ankle straps are simple but well designed. I’ve had no issues with mine, the ankle straps still stay tight (they use velcro to connect around your ankle) and the handles have a PVC or plastic type tube where you hold providing a better grip and stronger design for longevity. The handles have a foam outer covering to make it more comfortable as you being using higher resistances.

Bodylastics Handles

The door anchor is also a simple yet genius design. It’s basically a foam cylinder that goes in behind any door, you then close the door and allow the bodylastics strap to come out the side or bottom. You then connection your band(s) to the anchor and do which ever exercises you need. It’s a simple concept but adds an entire different dimension to your workout that other home gyms and exercise band sets just don’t offer.

The Bodylastics workout

The exercises you can do with Bodylastics are more or less the exact same as you can do in your local gym or on any home gym machine. The manual provides a workout system that you can use to rotate days and get a complete over all body workout. It also gives instructions on how to do each move and exercise mentioned in the workout routines. The pictures not great but you can see an example of a shoulder exercise below in the photo taken of my manual.

Not all of the Bodylastics sets come with a dvd but some do. I haven’t used the dvd that came with my set so unfortunately cannot comment on how good (or bad) it is. It provides a circuit training workout, and from what I’ve read online about it sounds quite intense. It’s a good fat burning tool if you’re not just looking to tone up.

Buy or Don’t Buy?

Personally, as I own a Bodylastics set, I can’t see why anyone looking for a piece of home exercise equipment wouldn’t purchase a Bodylastics set. The price is right, it’s portable, and it provides a full body workout. If your skeptical about how well the resistance works, don’t be. It’s a very intense workout since the resistance challenges your muscles in both directions. The system can grow with you since even the most basic setup comes with 4 bands of resistance, you can also purchase additional bands on their website if you want to add.

It’s well worth the money, and the product quality is top notch. It does take a bit of time to get used to the exercises so don’t expect to be an expert in one day, it took me a couple of weeks, but the manual is very good at explaining each exercise.
